CrossPathz - Frequently Asked Questions answered by Dash Bourne

CrossPathz knows how important privacy is to you. The engineers at Proxpro have tried to design a product that gives you complete control of what you share with whom. If you have any ideas on how we can improve the privacy and your control please let us know at support@proxpro.com

1. What is CrossPathz?

CrossPathz is a location-based social calendar, a sort of social magnet, that helps you draw in friends who matter to you and pack your life with fun things to do.

My favorite thing is to run in the park. CrossPathz helps me by overlaying my calendar with the calendars of my network. I can see when my friends will be at the park. They can see when I plan to be at the park, join me and we can all have fun together. What's magical is that CrossPathz also predicts when our paths might cross in the future and notifies us ahead of time.

How do I add an event into CrossPathz?

There are three ways to add an event into CrossPathz:

1 - Click the "+" symbol in the top left hand corner and enter an event.

2 - To automatically upload your Google Calendar events, click "Profile" > settings and add your Gmail Account and password. Then when you want to refresh CrossPathz click the arrows in the top right corner.

3 - On your "Friends plans" page you will see events that your friends have made visible to you. You can choose to "join" the event and the event details will be updated on your "my plans" page.

3. How does CrossPathz privacy work?

When your events are added to CrossPathz, via Google calendar, or added directly. CrossPathz assumes every event is private. Nobody can see this event unless you choose to make the event visible. To share an event with someone you choose one or more groups to share that event with or you can make it visible to anyone on CrossPathz.

4. How do Groups work?

Groups are a way to share some plans with some friends, other plans with other friends or keep plans totally private. So if you share an event , like going to the movies, with your "close friends" group, only people in the "close friends" group will be able to see that event on their "Friends' Plans" page. CrossPathz has hard wired 4 groups: family, close friends, friends and co-workers. If you wish to add more groups go into "profile" > "Groups" and add a group. Then the new group becomes available and you can select friends to add to your new group.

5. What are Followers? How do I assign them to a group?

Followers are people who have chosen to follow your plans. They may be friends or they may be people you vaguely know or don't know at all. You will be notified if you have a new follower. Until you assign the new follower to a group they can not see your plans (unless the event is a public plan). When you assign them to a group they can only see events that have been tagged to be visible to that group. If you wish to "Block" someone select the "Block" tab next to their name. It is also possible to Unblock someone later.

7. What are Following?

Following are people you are following. You may unfollow them by selecting the button.

6. How does "CrossPathz" work?

Unexpectedly bumping into old friends is always fun. But often there is too little time to catch up properly. Furthermore how often do you hear that you were in the same place as someone you know but you did not see them. CrossPathz brings us one step closer to predicting when a friend will cross our path in the future. If you know early enough you can get in touch and arrange to meet for lunch or a coffee. CrossPathz settings can be changed in your "profile". CrossPathz functions separately to events. A CrossPathz opportunity may occur when you are between two private events. You can choose groups to be included in CrossingPathz or switch off crossing paths all together. You can also vary the distance, physical proximity threshold when the CrossPathz notification will be activated.

8. How do I invite people to follow me on CrossPathz?

CrossPathz lets you invite friends from Facebook, Twitter or just send an email direct. Click Friends tab > invite.

9. How do I invite people to an event on Scrunchr?

After you have created a new event you can invite people to this event. Reopen the event and click "Invite". Here you can click Facebook friends, Twitter friends or enter in emails to people who are not members of Scrunchr.

This event will appear in your Friends' "Friends Events" (sounds a bit strange) but you can draw there attention to it by sending an invitation. You will only see Scrunchr members on the event invite friends page if you have selected a "Group" for that event. If no groups are selected no friends will appear.

What's Scrunchr? What's the difference between Scrunchr and CrossPathz?

While in stealth mode CrossPathz was called Scrunchr. CrossPathz was quite complicated and the last feature we built. We didn't want to use the name until CrossPathz functionality was complete.

Scrunchr was an alpha product. CrossPathz is beta and beyond.
